Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration and create an overall sense of well-being.


What are the benefits of massage?

Massage therapy can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, increase circulation and joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, encourage faster healing of injured muscular tissue, and improve posture. Massage is also known to lessen anxiety, promote better sleep, and improve concentration.

Must I be completely undressed?

Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to leave on for your own comfort. You will be properly draped with a towel or sheet during the session. Your therapist will leave the room while you undress, get onto the table, and cover up.

Who will perform the massage?

Your session will be conducted by a trained professional who is educated in a variety of techniques. Our clinic employs seven female therapists who are licensed by the State of Florida. We uphold the highest ethical standards and take pride in our ability to tailor each massage to your specific needs.

How long will the session last?

We offer half-hour or hour appointments. The half-hour session allows time for the therapist to concentrate on one specific region such as upper body. With the hour session, there is more time to include the feet, legs, back, arms, neck and shoulders.

What should I do during the massage?

Many people just close their eyes and relax; others like to talk during their session. Feel free to ask the therapist questions about the massage or provide feedback regarding the techniques being used. At times you will need communicate with the therapist to ensure you are comfortable during your massage.

How will I feel after the massage?

Most people feel very relaxed and free from their long-term aches and pains. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity that can last for days.

Is one massage enough?

It depends on your current symptoms. For various physical and stress-related problems, massage can have an immediate impact in enhancing how you feel. Every day we have clients who come in stressed out, with a sore neck, tight back, etc. and leave feeling a lot better than when they came in. But if you have ever had the experience of getting a massage and not noticing an immediate difference in your body after, you are not alone.

Sometimes the effects of the session take time to manifest. You may walk out feeling that you still have the issue you came in with but when you wake up the next day it's resolved.

But sometimes you won't notice a significant difference, even after a day or more. That happens because some of the positive effects of massage are cumulative. In other words, the more massage you get, the more benefit it generally has.

While many studies have been done showing the benefits of massage to treat a wide range of ailments, the problem with this research is that the studies follow participants over a course of many massages, usually during a period of eight weeks or more. Unfortunately, most people can't or won't commit to a series of eight or more treatments.

Instead, they come in for a single session and expect to get the same results as if they had been coming regularly. While you can definitely get results from a single session, you will only get the maximum benefit from massage if you come regularly. That doesn't mean you have to come in weekly. Even a monthly or every six week treatment can be effective in turning massage into a regular part of your life.

We realize that not everyone has the time or inclination to make massage more than an occasional event. We are just as happy to welcome clients who come in once a year, as those who visit more frequently. We just want you to have realistic expectations as to the benefits, if you chose to visit less often.
